WHAT: Toby Tate Book Launch Party for his debut novel, DIABLERO.
WHERE: Eagle Eye Book Shop in Decatur, Georgia
WHEN: Saturday, October 23, 2010
We had a small but enthusiastic turnout at the book launch party for Norh Carolina author Toby Tate and his first novel, DIABLERO. Refreshments were served and the author, also an accomplished musician who performs under the stage name of Thomas Rose, handed out free copies of his latest CD "Kitty" to the first 10 fans who purchased a signed copy of his book. After a short reading, Tate fielded questions from the audience concerning legend versus fact about Blackbeard the Pirate, how the author became interested in featuring Blackbeard as the centerpiece of his novel, and what attracts readers to the horror genre. The author also discussed his literary influences, with Stephen King, H. P. Lovecraft, and Ray Bradbury leading the pack. Mr. Tate also has a couple of VERY loyal fans who drove all the way from Kentucky to attend the event.
A huge thank you once again goes out to everyone at Eagle Eye Book Shop who made this special event happen: Doug Robinson (General Manager), Bob Munson (Night Manager), and most especially, George Scott (Events Manager), who continues to schedule our authors for these wonderful appearances. Eagle Eye Book Shop is the best independent bookstore not only in Georgia, but perhaps the entire Southeast. Thanks for your continued support, guys!
